Our Story

When I was 14 years old I moved away from the island of Maui to Oregon. Of course I knew the transition was going to be tough, but what made it tough wasn't the change in my environment, me missing my friends and family, or the great food. What made it tough was the fact that I didn't feel connected to my home, or my roots.

I've always had love for Hawaii, and moving away only grew my love and appreciation. Not only for its beauty, but for what the island has taught me.

As time went on things got easier. I became more obsessed with local music, started watching more local comedy skits from creators like TuaMua, and I started watching more sunsets.

Little things like this is what kept me connected to Hawaii.

You see I'm not the first and only local braddah to move away from Hawaii and become homesick, and I know that I won't be the last.

I created "Reppin' Da 808" for all the local braddahs and sistahs out there in the mainland as a source to come to and rely on whenever you feel disconnected from home.

Although all we are right now is just a clothing brand, we plan to be much more than that. We plan to build a community.
